Dreamcatcher is the program of Threshold that uses a mobile story booth to gather oral history and opinions through the use of surveys to tap the voice and goals of community members focusing on their solutions to community challenges.
Dream Catcher is a method that is designed to inspire change and support local empowerment. It taps the voices and insights of those people for whom policy makers make policy, programs deliver services, institutions take care, but whose ideas and insights are seldom heard and even more rarely acted upon.
It celebrates the resourcefulness and resiliency of individuals and their “home place”.
The methods used by Dream Catcher can be healing or therapeutic. However, its primary focus is to empower and develop strategies that can and will lead to community change. In creating this tapestry of stories and insights, the people involved participate in the powerful process of telling their truth.
